The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has launched one of the largest recruitment drives in the state’s recent history, announcing 32,679 vacancies for Constable-level posts. While the notification has generated widespread interest among job seekers, public attention has increasingly shifted toward a growing demand for three years of age relaxation, a topic currently dominating social media and student forums across Uttar Pradesh.
Major Recruitment Drive Announced
The recruitment, issued under Advertisement No. 07/2025, was announced by the Yogi Adityanath government as part of a broader employment push. The online application process began on December 31, 2025, and will remain open until January 30, 2026.

Age Relaxation Debate Gains Momentum
Under the current notification, the prescribed age limit remains:
- 18–22 years for General category male candidates
- 18–25 years for female candidates
However, thousands of aspirants have taken to social media platforms, particularly X, using hashtags such as #UPPoliceAgeRelaxation, demanding a one-time 3-year age relaxation.
Reasons Behind the Demand
- Recruitment Gap: Many candidates crossed the age limit due to delays between the previous recruitment of 60,244 posts and the current cycle.
- COVID-19 Impact: Aspirants argue that pandemic-related disruptions affected preparation timelines and should be compensated, as was done in earlier recruitments.
- Political Representation: Reports suggest that BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi has written to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging age relaxation on humanitarian grounds.
As of now, the UPPRPB has not issued any official clarification regarding age relaxation.
Advisory to Candidates: Aspirants are advised to apply within the current eligibility framework while closely monitoring official notifications for any policy updates.
