India is preparing to host one of the largest technology and policy gatherings in the world as the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 approaches. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently launched the official IMC 2025 mobile application, calling it a platform that brings together innovation, industry, and society.
Scheduled to take place at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi from October 8 to 11, the event is expected to welcome around 150,000 participants from 115 countries. Scindia noted that this year’s theme, “Innovate and Transform,” highlights Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a self-reliant and developed India by 2047.
The minister emphasized the central role of connectivity in shaping modern life, comparing it to the arteries of a nation. Just as roads carry goods and services across the country, telecommunication networks carry opportunities, education, and livelihoods. In his words, IMC 2025 is not limited to technical discussions about 5G, 6G, Artificial Intelligence, or the Internet of Things, but is also about how these technologies touch everyday lives.
Scindia highlighted how digital connectivity is empowering diverse groups in India. Farmers are accessing better markets through online platforms, schoolchildren are learning with digital tools, and small businesses are reaching global customers. The congress, he said, will showcase how these changes are not distant promises but present realities.
The newly launched IMC 2025 app, available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, aims to enhance the experience of participants. It provides access to schedules, real-time updates, networking opportunities, and information about exhibitions. The app reflects India’s commitment to making the congress digitally inclusive and accessible to all attendees.
The scale of IMC 2025 is remarkable. Organizers have planned 400 exhibitions, 500 start-up showcases, 600 curated investor meetings, and more than 1,400 real-world use cases. In addition, over 30 ministries and government departments will be represented, demonstrating the integration of digital technology across governance and public services.
For Scindia, the heart of IMC lies in empowerment. He stressed that true progress is not measured only by technological milestones but by how these tools improve lives at the grassroots. Connectivity, he said, must reach every citizen, from rural villages to urban centers, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital journey.
As India steps closer to its centenary of independence in 2047, IMC 2025 is more than a forum for futuristic technologies. It is a reflection of how connectivity is reshaping economies, societies, and aspirations in real time. By hosting this global event, India positions itself not just as a consumer of technology but as a leader shaping the digital future.
