Bihar Assistant Professor Recruitment: BSUSC Issues Key Clarification Ahead of Interviews

Appearing for the BSUSC Assistant Professor interview? One missing document could cost you your chance. Here's everything you need to know before the interview.

The Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC) has issued an important notification for candidates appearing in the Assistant Professor recruitment process. The clarification, released on 9 July 2026, outlines additional document requirements, verification procedures, and interview guidelines for contractual Assistant Professor appointments in newly established degree colleges across Bihar.

The notification is particularly significant for applicants who have completed their Ph.D. before the implementation of the UGC Regulations, 2009, as well as candidates preparing for the upcoming interview round.

Why Was This Clarification Issued?

The Commission stated that the notice has been issued in continuation of the recruitment advertisement for contractual Assistant Professor posts. The objective is to remove confusion regarding eligibility documents and ensure a uniform verification process before interviews.

Ph.D. Candidates Must Submit a 5-Point Certificate

One of the most important instructions concerns candidates who obtained their Ph.D. before the UGC Regulations, 2009 came into force.

Such applicants must upload a 5-Point Certificate issued by the concerned university. The certificate should be signed by the Dean (Academic Affairs) or the concerned faculty authority.

Candidates who failed to upload this certificate along with their online application will not be permitted to participate in the interview.

Original Documents Are Mandatory

During the interview, candidates must produce:

  • Original educational certificates and mark sheets
  • Original reservation certificates, wherever applicable
  • Original 5-Point Certificate (if required)
  • Original notarized affidavit
  • Two sets of self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents

Failure to produce the required originals or photocopies may result in disqualification from the interview process.

Strict Verification Before Interview

The Commission has also announced that every document uploaded during the online application process will undergo verification by a designated committee on the day of the interview.

If any certificate, mark sheet, or supporting document is found to be false, misleading, or inconsistent with the online application, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview.

This reinforces the Commission's emphasis on transparency and document authenticity.

Vacancies May Change

Another important point mentioned in the notification is that the number of vacancies advertised for various subjects and universities may change depending on administrative requirements.

Candidates are therefore advised not to assume that the vacancy figures published in the original advertisement are final.

Affidavit Clarification

The Commission has also clarified that candidates who uploaded the older format of the Notarized Affidavit (Appendix-I) during online application do not need to upload it again.

However, they must carry the revised affidavit in the prescribed format at the time of the interview for verification.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Applicants appearing for the BSUSC Assistant Professor interview should ensure that they:

  • Carry all original academic documents.
  • Bring two sets of self-attested photocopies.
  • Obtain the required 5-Point Certificate if their Ph.D. falls under the pre-UGC 2009 category.
  • Carry the revised notarized affidavit in the prescribed format.
  • Carefully verify that all uploaded information matches the original documents.

InsightfulTake Analysis

The latest clarification indicates that BSUSC is prioritising document verification and procedural transparency before final appointments. While the additional requirements may appear demanding, they are intended to minimise disputes over eligibility and ensure that appointments are based on verified academic credentials.

Candidates should avoid waiting until the interview date to arrange certificates and affidavits. A careful review of the Commission's latest instructions could prevent unnecessary rejection at the final stage of recruitment.
