Arjav Jain’s CUET Triumph: A Beacon for Aspiring Humanities Students

In a country where engineering and medical entrances like IIT-JEE and NEET often take the spotlight, Arjav Jain’s outstanding performance in the CUET-UG 2025 exam proves that brilliance also thrives in the world of commerce, arts, and social sciences. Securing All India Rank 2, Arjav has emerged as the topper from Delhi-NCR, bringing pride not just to his family but also to a larger community that values holistic academic excellence.

A resident of Krishna Nagar, East Delhi, Arjav’s story is one of consistent effort, disciplined preparation, and a dream that found wings. At 17, he never imagined himself among the top scorers in the country. “My aim was to get a decent score to help me enter my dream college. I had not thought that I would be one of the top scorers,” he shared. His achievement underlines the changing landscape of Indian education, where CUET is fast becoming a national benchmark for undergraduate admissions across central universities.

What makes Arjav’s success especially inspiring is his focus on pursuing Economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), one of the most prestigious institutions under Delhi University. While traditionally science streams attract the highest pressure and attention, Arjav's journey shifts the focus to the equally vital disciplines of commerce and humanities. These fields form the backbone of policy-making, governance, research, public administration, and financial literacy — all critical for India’s balanced and sustainable growth.

His schooling at Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir and the support of his teachers and parents played a central role in his preparation. He acknowledges the emotional and academic help they offered during stressful times. “The examination days were stressful. I will be celebrating this success with my family members and friends who kept cheering me and helped me cope with all the stress,” he said, with a sense of calm satisfaction.

Arjav’s success reflects a deeper need for India to appreciate excellence in all academic fields. If India wants to become a knowledge superpower, it cannot rely solely on engineers and doctors. It also needs thinkers, economists, historians, sociologists, and artists who can bring cultural wisdom, social understanding, and economic insight into national development.

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) was introduced to standardize the admission process across India’s central universities and offer a level playing field to students from all regions and boards. In 2025, over 13.54 lakh students registered for CUET, and about 10.71 lakh appeared for the exam conducted between May 13 and June 4. That Arjav stood out in this large and competitive pool is a feat comparable to securing top ranks in NEET or JEE.

His journey is a reminder to parents, schools, and policymakers that humanities and commerce students deserve equal encouragement. Academic excellence is not limited to test tubes or algorithms. It also includes economic theories, philosophical debates, political analysis, and creative expressions. These are the skills that shape democracies and economies.

As Arjav prepares to begin his college life in North Campus, his story will surely inspire thousands of students across India who wish to make a mark in fields beyond the traditional science routes. He stands as proof that with hard work, the right guidance, and belief, even dreams that seem out of reach can become reality.
